"Last year, Lynn was inspired to create a colorful holiday garland by stringing on wire 40 years’ worth of buttons she’d saved. The final product was an unexpectedly festive way to feature upcycling, but the real treasure was in discovering how creating this eco-decor item reminded her of stories she then shared with us, her family. As she wove the wire through the buttons, Lynn was flooded with memories. 

“This one is from the dress I wore on my honeymoon,” she recalled. 

“And this one came off of a coat Corey wore when she was three!” She hung the button garland on the mantel, where it was uniquely decorative; each time we looked at it, we were reminded of our family’s history.
